  • Charging via power adapter or USB to computer system

Blah blah blah ok so you want to know how it works and how I like it right? Short answer is I LOVE IT!!!  I got mine the day they came out.  I think for all the moms out there it is a valuable learning tool for children of ALL ages. They have an app for everything. My personal favorite tho is the “book shelf” (Ibooks).  It looks like a real book shelf with all the books you have on your ipad right there. You can turn pages and some of the books read to you or your kids.  Which is pretty cool and great for kids who are learning to read.

The screen is AMAZING!  I have nails so the touch screen took a bit of getting used to. Much like my iphone.  In my opinion it does have a better touch screen than many of the other touch screen products on the market.

If you read a lot of magazines I say get the Zinio app. Think Ibooks but for magazines.

Games ooooooooooo the games. The App Store has just about anything you’d ever want. They don’t have my favorite game from childhood tho 😦  Where in the world is Carmen San Diego was the first computer game I EVER played and YES I played it on a MAC/Apple computer THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! So I’d love to see a Carmen San Diego app. They do however have my second favorite game……SCRABBLE!!!

For all you news lovin’ poshies the Associated Press and Reuters News Pro have great FREE apps. Get all the latest news right to your Ipad.

Bottom line you can pretty much get everything you’d ever want from your ipad and if you have a big posh purse like I do it fits right inside. Get your’s NOW!!!

Look Like a Beverly Hills Housewife

I am a huge fan of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I have loved the Maloof family for years. I spend a lot of time at their Palms Casino Resort.  Well while watching the RHOB I notice Adrienne had these cute gold sparkle strands in her hair. So of course being a lover of all things bling and posh I had to find strands of my own.  I came across http://www.blingstrands.com/  The company happened to be at a trade show I was working so I made an appointment to have a few strands put in. O-M-G I am totally hooked. I had black ones put in the first day, purple ones put in the second day, red ones the third day and more purple the fourth day.  This was the first week of January and guess what…..THEY ARE STILL IN!!!  The wonderful Joanne was sweet enough to put them in for me everyday. I have washed my hair, dried my hair, fat ironed my hair and curled my hair and my strands still look amazing. The prices are great for a little bit of Beverly Hills. So go check them out! They are easy to put in an you can do them yourself. They have a video on www.blingstrands.com showing how easy they are to put in. Bling Strands are a must have for any posh lovin’ girl.

Serendipity Oh My!!!!

On the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo just outside of Caesars Palace sits the restaurant Serendipity 3. Among the food offered at this restaurant are colossal burgers/hot dogs and overstuffed sandwiches and pastas. The service is excellent and the food is served in a very beautiful manner. This restaurant also offers the most expensive dessert which is found in the Guinness Book of Records. This is the “golden Opulence Sundae”. The sundae is comprised of 5 scoops of Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream, rare chocolates and exotic fruits over a 23 karat gold leaf. The cost is a mere $1,000.00! Another one of a kind item is the Las Vegas buffet sandwich. It combines the flavors of Italy, Japan, France, Mexico and America all under the same bun. A world tour for your mouth.

Ruth’s Chris Las Vegas

I would totally suggest Ruth’s Chris on Paradise Road. The steak house which is part of a nationwide chain, opens at 4:00 pm and closes at 3:00 am. They have a great, affordable happy hour menu ,as well as a varied regular menu and a full bar with bartenders ready to serve your favorite drink. My favorite is the Midori Sour. Two of my favorite appetizers are the sizzling blue crab cakes and the mushrooms stuffed with crab. The taste is amazing and just melts in your mouth. The crab cakes are more crab and less cake!! Last time I was there my dinner companion had a wonderful, generous helping of Caesar salad which he thoroughly enjoyed. Ruth’s Chris’ special Caesar dressing added a special zest to the crisp, chilled greens. The prices coupled with the fast friendly service makes this restaurant a great place for a midnight meal. You can even plan your special events at the restaurant and all your party will be totally satisfied.

Manolo Blahnik in The Wynn

You can now own the shoes that Carrie Bradshaw made famous. Take a trip  over to the Wynn Hotel Casino Resort for a bit of retail therapy.  Manolo Blahnik has been the shoe of choice for Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw  for many years.  Manolo is the definition of glamour and high craftsmanship.  They have set the standard in the shoe industry and have become icons themselves.

When you walk into the Manolo store in the Wynn Esplanade you are met by some of the most amazingly beautiful shoes ever made. Everything from your standard high heel in jewel tones to shoes you have seen walk down the red carpet at the Emmys will meet your eye.   The sales staff greets you  with open arms. I was impressed that the staff was well versed on their product. They enthusiastically answered any and all questions I had about the shoes and the company.

I slipped my foot into the blue jewel toned crystal accented shoe that the one and only Carrie Bradshaw wore in the Sex In The City movie. It felt like slipping into a slice of heaven. I had to have them. So if you want to walk on air for awhile and feel like a famous movie star, just take you and your credit card over to the Manolo store and be greeted by their accommodating staff who will definitely be ready to sell you a pair of these famous shoes.

Wynn Pools

The Wynn pool is one of the best I have been to. The staff is amazing and more than willing to make your poolside visit one to remember. I had the chance to spend the day in one of their ultra exclusive cabanas. I spent my time laying back with a drink in one hand and the remote control in the other. It was the ultimate poolside experience. My personal server refilled our drink orders in a very timely manner. Having air conditioning is a total plus and was much appreciated.

Poolside tip: Don’t forget to tip your server. Even if you are paying for the cabana, your server is working extra hard to fulfill all of your desires.

Wynn’s large main pool is dumbbell shaped with a very long narrow passage between the two large oval pools. The narrow passage serves as an excellent lap pool for those looking for a little exercise.
For the VIP Tower Suite guests, they have access to two private pools located near the Tower Suite Lobby. VIP Tower Suite guests also have access to separate private Cabanas.
A live DJ can be found spinning hip-hop, 80′s and dance music at one of private pools.
A few blackjack tables can be found poolside, weather permitting.

Cabanas: The cabanas are not like the traditional tent structures. Instead they are made of solid construction and have all the comforts of home. Each cabana provides the following:
TV
IPOD (at your request)
Refrigerator
Beverages
Snacks
Overhead Fan
Private Patio
Personal Server
Room service

VIP Tower Suite Cabanas offer the same amenities along with a few more perks:
Flat Screen TV
Air Conditioning
WiFi
Mini-Bar
Food Service From Tableau

Any reservations or specific information on prices and other services can be obtained at the hotel service desk.

Vdara Hotel

I’m a Vegas girl from way back. I’ve lived through Steve Wynn’s visions of pirates, volcanoes, and a giant lake complete with dancing fountains in the middle of the desert. It takes a lot to impress me. I must admit, MGM Mirage’s newest creation made me stop in my tracks. Over the last few years I have watched this blank piece of land take shape into some of the most beautiful buildings to ever dot the Las Vegas skyline.

On Wednesday December 2, 2009 I got my chance to check out Vdara. The first thing that hits you when you walk through the beauty entry way is the lack of smoke. For those of us who enjoy having pink healthy lungs this place is heaven on the Las Vegas strip. With Vdara’s massive size it is oddly quiet and quite serene. The lobby itself is a feast for the eyes. The architecture is simply breathtaking with the blending of calming colors and clean lines.

The Vdara stats themselves are equally as impressive as it’s beauty.

* Non gaming

* Smoke free

* 10,000 square feet of meeting space

* 1,495 private suites

* Full service wellness spa, salon and fitness center

* US Green Building Council LEED Gold Certified Building

* Sky pool and lounge featuring a sparkling pool, bar and lounge, cabanas and event space.

* Silk Road, a modern and innovative restaurant by chef Martin Heierling.

Christian Umlauf a Las Vegas local said it best when he used the word “elegant” to describe the magnificent wonder of Vdara. This luxury resort is a must see for locals and tourists alike.

Couture Pops

I am a lover of all things couture. Much to my surprise The Mirage Hotel Casino is home to your not so average candy store. The Sugar Factory is not just a candy store it’s a couture candy experience. I’ve been hearing about The Sugar factory’s amazing couture lollipops for months and had to check them out for myself.

When you walk through the entrance your eyes are met by an endless amount of vibrant colors and your nose is treated to a combination of sweet smells. For a second it takes you back to your childhood. I was greeted by a very nice sales girl by the name of Meheret. I asked her about their signature line of couture pops. She took me to the left side of the store where I was presented with beautiful rhinestone covered lollipops. That’s right rhinestone covered LOLLIPOPS! This is couture at it’s best. I browsed the rows and rows of sparkling pops. Another sales girl named Elexia came over and started to explain that I can create my own signature pop. I picked out a dark pink, light pink and clear rhinestone covered lollipop stick with a cherry flavored pop on top. The total? $25. Not bad for your own designer sucker.

After my designer lollipop was packaged with care, I was informed I could buy refills for my rhinestone covered couture lollipop stick. This just gets better and better the longer I am in the store. The refills come in packs of 3. You can also customize what flavors you’d like in your refill pack. Of course I had to get the custom refills. I chose watermelon, green apple and blue raspberry. Total cost for my refills? $12! For just under $40 I was able to create my own rhinestone studded couture lollipop complete with three refills. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon ( and $39).

Grand Lux Café

The Grand Lux Café is located in the Venetian Hotel Casino Resort. This upscale yet low key restaurant is just what the doctor ordered for a hungry tummy. The décor is high end with a low end price and a warm welcome for all.  We ordered the Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya. The service was so quick I was shocked. No sooner had our wonderfully, cheerful waitress had laid our warm bread on the table our entrees were ready. The food was cooked to perfection. and  portions are huge.    Sautéed with peppers, onions, and Tasso, the jambalaya is an amazing combinations of flavors and textures. Paired with white rice it makes for the perfect meal. Great food at great prices is a great find in Las Vegas. Check it out for yourself but when you go, make sure you are hungry and ready to be treated like a king and queen.

Minus 5 Las Vegas

The hottest place in Vegas might just be the coldest place in Vegas. The Minus 5 ice bar has got to be one of the most interesting places I have ever been.  It is located in the Mandalay Bay above Starbucks. Think…. Having drinks in an igloo.

Before you enter the bar you are fully outfitted in an official Minus 5 parka or super cute faux fur coat (I had to have fur of course).  You are given your very own locker to place your belongings in (including cell phones and cameras).  The wonderful hostess leads you into the first of three rooms. The first room is 50 degrees. This is where you are given your warm gloves. The second room is 32 degrees then off to the main room you go and, true to it’s name, it’s MINUS 5 DEGREES!  I was a bit in awe when I walked in. I was first met by the sight of a 700 pound life size Elvis ice sculpture. My party and I made our way to one of the ice couches. YES even the couches are made of ice. Don’t worry they are covered in deer skin so you don’t stick to the couches. I went over to the bar and picked out a nice fruity drink that was served in a glass made of ice.
Their ultra sweet photographer floats around the bar snapping posed and candid pictures that are available for purchase when you leave.

The best part of the bar is they change the statues every few months. When I went they also had  ice sculptures of The Men of Iwo Jima, Muhammad Ali, and the best replica of the Las Vegas sign I have ever seen. One of the employees said that they wanted to add lights to the Ali sculpture.
